You may ask why i posted this picture of nail clipper for no reason . Looks really ordinary yeah ?
My dad passed me this yesterday ; asking me to cut my nails . I didn't want to although it was really long . I noticed that the handle where you press has broken to at least half it's original size .. Before i could ask my dad what happened , he filled me in . Dad say this was given to him by his dad , which is my grandfather .. who passed away when i was in primary one .
Saying that , my usually hard hearted dad seem to sound a little sad ; he continued by telling me how he had accidentally broken the handle while trying to twist it back to shape . I coundn't help but feel his sadness too . He added that he wants to go and melt the broken piece and mould it back to it's original shape .
This occured to me how i should treasure my dad when he's around . The nail clipper gave to him by my grandad may just seem like something really really simple , but when he's gone .. you would only then learn to treasure it .
Everybody's dad will eventually leave one day to a better place , but why wait until then to cherish them . My Dad is always travelling ; be it for 2 weeks or for 5 days . It's a constant routine that i have become accustomed to since young . So to speak , even during days when he's around , i barely get to see him like 2-5 hours a day ; on days where he's overseas or when i have to sleep early for school , none .
Once in a while when i go over to his company to help out with stuff , his staff will always ask me , do you prefer your dad travelling or being at home . I didn't know very much how to answer at first , but now i know .. i want him to be at home as often as possible .
Dad's very nice to me ; our family . Working really hard to give us our present living conditions , bringing us out every sunday for meals outside and giving interesting lectures and reason with us even when we make mistakes , hardly does he ever cane us since young . Yeah , sure .. he's fierce sometimes , but he tries his best never to lay a hand on us . Cherish your dad .
